Justice for Wales is a community organisation. We respect the privacy of people who contact us and take care with the information they share.

The company is responsible for this website and the personal information collected through it. It is the data controller.
Your information
When you contact us, we receive your name, contact details, message and any attachments you send. The website may also collect technical information, including your IP address, browser details and cookie choices.
We use this information to respond to enquiries, manage activities you have chosen to join, keep necessary records and meet legal responsibilities.
For ordinary enquiries, we rely on our legitimate interest in running the organisation and responding to people, balanced against their privacy rights. Where we ask for consent, we rely on that consent. Some information may be kept to meet a legal obligation.
Contacting us does not sign you up for campaign or fundraising messages. If you choose to receive these, you can unsubscribe at any time.
We do not sell personal information or make automated decisions about people using website submissions.
Private and sensitive information
Please send only what we need to understand your enquiry. Do not use the contact form to send full legal files, confidential legal advice, identity documents, bank details or information covered by a court restriction.
Take particular care with information about health, political opinions and other sensitive matters, including information about other people. Handling this information requires an additional legal condition as well as an ordinary lawful basis. Where we ask for it, we will explain why we need it and the basis for using it.
If we receive sensitive information we have not requested, we will restrict access and assess whether we can lawfully retain or use it. Unnecessary information will be securely deleted or anonymised unless it must be preserved for a legal reason.
Sending us private information does not give us permission to publish it.
Access and sharing
Access is limited to authorised people who need the information for their work with Justice for Wales and service providers supporting our website and communications.
We do not routinely forward private messages to solicitors, journalists or other campaign organisations. If we propose to share identifiable information with them, we will explain the intended use and ask permission.
Information may also be shared where lawful and necessary to meet a legal requirement, respond to an immediate and serious risk of harm, or obtain confidential legal advice for the company. We will share only what is needed.
Some service providers may store or handle personal information outside the UK. Where this happens, we must ensure that the transfer is covered by applicable UK adequacy regulations or other appropriate safeguards, such as approved contractual protections. You can contact us for details of the arrangements and how to obtain a copy of any relevant safeguards.
Stories, photographs and quotations
Before publishing identifiable material supplied privately, we will explain the intended use and obtain the necessary permission.
We will not use someone’s name, photograph or words to suggest support or involvement they have not agreed to.
Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to keep information secure and limit access. No website or ordinary email service is completely secure.
We keep personal information for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected. When deciding how long to keep it, we consider whether an enquiry or activity is ongoing, whether we need a record of permission, and whether records are needed for a complaint, legal proceedings or another legal requirement. We cannot promise to investigate or act on every message.
This website includes campaign information, opinions and personal accounts. An allegation or personal account is not a court finding. We aim to distinguish these clearly and keep information accurate, but circumstances can change.
Please contact us if something appears inaccurate, out of date or wrongly attributed so we can consider a correction or removal.
Donations and links
We do not collect card or bank details through this website. Donation links lead to external organisations or platforms with their own payment and privacy arrangements. Fundraising information should identify who receives and manages the money.
Other websites are responsible for their own content and services.
